Porvorim Goa earned three points by virtue of first innings lead as their Elite Group C, Ranji Trophy match against Services ended in a draw on the fourth and final day at GCA Academy ground, Porvorim on Sunday. Amit Verma shone with the ball taking a five-wicket haul to help the hosts bowl out the visitors for 332 in their second innings. Goa in their second innings scored 67 for 2. Resuming the day at 277/5, Gahaut and Nitin Tanwar looked in good form to lead the team to a big score. However, Tanwar's innings came to an end after he was caught by Darshan Misal off Lakshay Garg for 27. Services were bowled for 332 . Starting off their second innings Goa did not attempt to chase down the posted target rather took the team to a comfortable draw. Opener Amogh Dessai was sent back after scoring just 9 runs. Services' Akash Sharma's delivery to Desai was caught by Arun Bamal. But the second wicket came immediately in the form of captain Sagun Kamat who was given LBW off a delivery from Akash Sharma without making any runs. Amit Verma saved the day for Goa, and partnered Amonkar to give services bowlers a tough time; though they did not score openly but they stayed glued to the wicket. Amonkar and Verma remained not out at 20 and 23 after facing 168 and 121 balls respectively. Amonkar's steady innings saw 3 boundaries while a cautious Verma struck two across the fence. In Goa's bowling camp, apart from Verma's fine bowling spell, Lakshay Garg and Vijesh Prabhudessai took two wickets each. While, Services' Akash Sharma was the sole wicket taker in the second innings dismissing both Goan batsmen. Goa's Darshan Misal was adjudged as the player of the match.
