Goa were 237 for the loss of two wickets on the first day of Round IV of the Elite Group C Ranji Trophy match against Jharkhand at the GCA Academy ground in Porvorim on Tuesday.
Goa won the toss and elected to bat and after the loss of the first two wickets , the Goa innings was steadied by opener Suman Amonkar and Amit Verma. Suman was not out on 84 at the close of play along with Amit Verma who was on 131.
Amogh Desai and captain Sagun Kamat were dismissed for 5 and 11 respectively.
Amit Verma was the mainstay of Goa’s batting hitting the ball to the ropes 18 times and loftimg it for a six twice.
Suman hit 13 fours on his way to his 84.
