Goa in sight of big win

Goa is in sight of a big victory over Arunachal Pradesh with the visitors trailing Goa by 487 runs , having lost three second innings wickets at the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Academy ground in Porvorim on Tuesday.
Goa declared their first innings on 589 for 2 and bowled Arunachal Pradesh out for 83 in their first innings. Captain Amit Verma asked them to follow on and captured three wickets at close of play leaving Arunachal Pradesh to muster 487 runs with eight wickets in hand.
Captain Amit Verma and wicket keeper Smit Patel were not out on 122 and 137 respectively when Goa declared.
Captain Amit Verma ended as Goa’s highest wicket taker claiming three wickets in Arunachal Pradesh’s first innings and claimed three more during the second.
Darshan Misal claimed four AP first inning wickets whilst Amulya Pandrekar took two and Vijesh Prabhudesai one.
Goa will look to score and innings win against Arunachal Pradesh to be able to claim seven points – vital for Goa to break away from Pondicherry and Chandigarh to qualify from the Plate Group to the Elite Group of the tournament.
