Goa take 36 runs lead over Pondicherry; earn 3 points in drawn tie

Sanath Nevagi scored 139 runs and it helped Goa claim three points against Cricket Association of Pondicherry in the Vijay Merchant Trophy match being held at the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) ground in Porvorim on Friday.
Goa , resuming on 180 for the loss of five wickets on the final day, were bowled out for 302 before lunch. Sanath Nevagi took 511 minutes and faced 148 balls to finish with 139. He scored 16 fours.
Pondicherry started their second innings needing to get past the lead of 36 runs that Goa had over them. At close of play on the last day they had scored 44 for the loss of one wicket.
Goa thus ended with three points and Pondicherry with one in the drawn encounter.
Veer Yadav finished as the second highest scorer for Goa with 43 runs.
