Goa take first innings lead of 75 PORVORIM Goa took a 75-run lead against Services during their Elite Group C Ranji Trophy match being played at Goa Cricket Association Academy ground, Porvorim on Friday. Goa was 259/9 at close of the seconds day play. Services' bowlers Sachidanand Pandey and Diwesh Pathania were Goa's main tormentors. Sumiran Amonkar (13) was bowled by Sachidanand Pandey . Amit Verma failed to open his score and was prey to Pandey after he was caught by Devender Lohchab. Sagun Kamat's innings was out LBW off a delivery from Diwesh Pathania. He scored 26 off 47 consisting four boundaries. Pathania struck again to take out Goa wicket keeper Keenan Vaz on the first ball plumping him LBW on 0. Next in Mohammad Asaduddin failed to make a sizeable contribution to an already rattled top ordered and was plucked by Pathania for just 2 runs after facing 11 balls. At this stage Goa were gruelling at 53/6 . Snehal Suhas and Darshan Misal who began to what looked a steady partnership folded, when Rajat Paliwal caught Suhas off a delivery by Pathania for 26. Amulya Pandrekar's 15-run cameo ended after he was caught by Lohchab off a delivery by Pandey. Darshan Misal and Lakshay Garg kept Goa afloat and they did as Misal went on to complete his century and Garg a cautious fifty. Garg was run-out by Nitin Tanwar after facing 158 deliveries and smashing six boundaries. Misal remained not out at 101 hitting eight boundaries and two sixes, along with Vijesh Prabhudessai who has not yet opened his account at the end of day's play. Diwesh Pathania and Sachidanand Pandey were the pick of the bowlers from the Services camp, claiming 4 wickets each and giving away 74 and 59 runs respectively.
