Goa trails Chandigarh by 242 runs

Chandigarh declared their first innings on 580 – taking a first innings lead of 329 runs – and then restricted Goa to 87 for 2 at close of play on the penultimate day of the Ranji Trophy (Plate Group) tie between Goa and Chandigarh at the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Academy ground in Porvorim on Tuesday.
Goa trails Chandigarh by 242 runs.
Resuming on 310 for 3, Chandigarh went on to pile runs in the morning with Bipul Sharma remaining not out on 103 with 8 fours and two sixes. A K Kaushik scored 83.
Captain Amit Verma was the most successful wicket taker for Goa with three scalps. Darshan Misal , Lakshay Garg, Suyash Prabhudesai and Amulya Pandrekar claimed one wicket each.
In their second innings , Goa lost Aditya Kaushik for 15 and wicket keeper Smit Patel for 40. Sumiran Amonkar was not out on 21 along with night watchman Amulya Pandrekar.
