NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Chopdem Sports Club beat Colvale Cricket Club by 97 runs in the North Zone super knockout C Division match organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) at Shapora Panchayat ground on Thursday. Colvale CC won the toss and opted to field and bowled Chopdem for 203 in 36.3 overs. Winners Chopdem SC went on to bowl Colvale CC for 106 in 16.4 overs. Laxman Naik of Chopdem earned the man of the match award for his 5 wicket haul in his 4 overs in which he gave away 10 runs.Siddesh Korgaonkar claimed 3 wickets in his 8 overs where he gave away 32 runs. Vishant Chopdekar of Chopdem was the highest scorer with his 54 not out from 69 deliveries. In another match at the Academy ground in Porvorim , Bicholim Cricket Club beat Visual Link Cricketers by 105 runs in the final of the Sattari Zone B Division match. Bicholim CC opted to bat after winning the toss and scored 205 for the loss of 9 wickets in 40 overs and later bowled Visual Link Cricketers for 100 in 27.5 overs.
