Goa bundle out Services for 184 are 27/1

PORVORIM Goa put up an impressive show against Services with the bowlers - led by Vijesh Prabhudessai's five wicket haul — bowling out the visitors for 184 on the first day of the Elite, Group C, Ranji Trophy match played at GCA Academy ground, Porvorim on Thursday. In response Goa were 27/1 at the end of the day's play, with Amogh Desai being the first batsman sent back. Amogh was out after having scored five runs. Sumiran Amonkar and captain Sagun Kamat were at the crease playing not out on 8 and 9 runs respectively. Services lost their first wicketwhen the score was early for 12 runs. Navneet Singh and Ravi Chauhan steadied the Services innings and put on a 50 plus stand before Navneet was sent back after he was caught by Sagun Kamat off a delivery by Vijesh Prabhudessai at 23. Gahlaut Singh was Vijesh's next victim after having scored six runs. Rajat Paliwal who followed him was bowled for 4 runs by Prabhudessai. At this point Services were reeling at 75/4. Amulya Pandrekar picked up the wicket of Devender Lochab for 20 runs, after he played a 44 ball knock which included two boundaries. Arun Bamal was Vijesh's victim of Prabhudessai after he was caught by Vaz for 11 runs that came off 22 deliveries. Services were 112/6. But Nitin Tanvar and Ravi Chauhan made an attempt to steady the innings but Tanvar was lbw for 14 runs that came off 42 deliveries. Prabhudessai struck again and sent back Diwesh Pathania for just 1 run. Finally Ravi Chauhan, who was the only batsman leading a fight towards a decent score, fell for 75 after facing 144 deliveries, off a delivery from Pandrekar. Akash Sharma was the last batsman to get out, after he was on his way back to the dressing room for 6 runs. He was plucked by Lakshay Garg. Vijesh finished with the figures of 5/52 in his 24 overs. Amulya Pandrekar took 3 wickets for 27 runs and Garg finished with 2 for 68.
