NEWS BYTE PORVORIM Goa scored 182 for the loss of 7 wickets against Andhra Pradesh on the first day of the Vijay Merchant Trophy match at the Goa cricket Association (GCA) ground in Porvorim on Tuesday. Andhra Pradesh won the toll and opted to bat and the Goan lad's batted through the day losing seven wickets in 90 overs. Veer Yadav was not out on 41 along with Shreyash Usgaonkar (4) who was the last batsmen in. Pradnyesh Gaonkar top scored for Goa with 47 runs from 100 balls. He hit the ball to the fence twice. Verr , on the other hand, faced 106 balls and scored two fours and a six. Sanath Nevagi , who top scored for Goa with a century in the last match, was out after having scored 27. Devankumar Chittem scored 36 and captain Arsh Sardesai 22. Gavvala Mallikarjuna took five wickets for Andhra Pradesh.
