NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Karimabad Sports Club leads Salgaocar Cricket Club by 168 runs at close of second days play of the Goa Premier League organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) at Panjim Gymkhana ground in Campal on Tuesday. Salgaocar who resumed on 62 for 5 was bowled out for 103 in 41.5 overs giving Karimabad SC a 142 runs first innings lead. Karimabad SC was on 26 for the loss of 1 wicket at close of play, extending their lead to 168. Sanat Mhapne with his 4 wicket haul in 14 overs , conceding 46 runs, was the pick of the players from the Karimabad lot whilst Vaibhav Naik top scored for Salgaocar with his 22 from 58 balls. In the other match being played at GCA ground in Sanguem , Dempo Cricket Club took a 64 runs lead over Geno Sports Club. At close of play , Dempo CC was 176 for the loss of 9 wickets in 53 overs after bowling Geno SC for 239 in 69.1 overs. Malik Sirur topscored for Dempo CC with his 42 from 49 balls.
