NEWSBYTES PORVORIM Manorva Sports and Cultural Club defeated Dost Cricket Club by 7 wickets in the North Zone and Rising Stars of Shirvoi beat Polem Cricket Club by 3 wickets in the south Zone matches of the B Division League organized by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) at Academy ground , Porvorim and MCC ground, Margao respectively on Friday. Dost CC won the toss and opted to bat and were bowled for 141 in 36.5 overs. Manorva Sports and CC scored 142 for the loss of 3 wickets in 18.1 overs. Santosh Bhosle of Manorva was adjudged the Man of the Match for his 69 from 50 balls. Salim Shaynaar of Dost CC scored 40 from 36 balls and Siddesh Dabholkar of Manorva made 39 from 27 balls. Shyam Kalangutkar took 3 wickets from 7.5 overs and conceded 33 runs to finish as the highest wicket taker of the match. In the other match in Margao , Rising Stars of Shirvoi was the toss and asked Polem Cricket club to bat and dismissed them for 87 in 22.3 overs. Rising stars went on to score 91 for 7 in 18.4 overs. Sanreash Mapsekar was adjudged the Man of the Match for his 5 wicket haul in 5 overs. He gave away 23 runs. Pravin Naik of Polem CC scored 27 from 31 balls to finish as the highest scorer of the match. Dhruv Bhende and Pawan Kumar of Rising Stars scored 24 and 19 runs respectively to fiish as second and third highest scorers of the match. In the C Division match of South Goa , MPT Sc defeated Vijay Cricket Club by 90 runs. MPT scored 282 for 9 in 40 overs whereas Vijay Cricket club could manage to score 192 in 35.1 overs. Nandan Gowda of MPT was declared the man of the Match for his 102 from 95 balls.
