NEWS BYTES PORVORIM MRF Sports Club beat Curchorem Cricket Club by 6 wickets and Samrat SC beat Cricket Club of Altinho by 63 runs in the B Division South and North Zone league matches organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) at GCA ground in Sanguem and Academy ground in Porvorim respectively on Tuesday. In Sanguem , MRF won the toss and opted to field and bowled out the lads from Curchorem for 135 in 32.3 overs. In reply, winners MRF went on to score 139 fro the loss of 4 wickets in 25.5 overs. Viraj Gaude of MRF won the man of the match award for claiming  4 wickets in 5.3 overs and conceding 13 runs. Viraj Lad , also of MRF  claimed 3 wickets in his 7 overs. Abhishek Sawant of Curchorem finished as top scorer with his 50 from 48 balls. Sarvesh Prabhugaonkar of MRF was the second highest scorer with 39 from 23 balls. In the North zone match at Academy ground in Porvorim , Cricket Club of Altinho opted to field after winning the toss and restricted Samrat SC to 271 for the loss of 7 wickets . They were later bowled out for 208 in 35.1 overs by winners Samrat SC. Santosh Tulaskar of Samrat SC was declared the man of the match for his 78 from 81 balls and 6 wicket haul from 5.1 overs. Utkarsh of Cricket Club of Altinho finished as the second highest scorer with his 59 from 44 balls. Ashish Naik of Samrat SC scored 47 from 40 balls. Parshuram Hasmani claimed 3 wickets whilst conceding 21 runs to end up as the second highest wicket taker.
