NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Panjim Gymkhana got the better of Youth Sports Club of Khandola by 6 wickets and Arlem SC defeated Bogda Cricket club by 25 runs in the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Division B league (2021-2022) of North Goa and South Goa respectively held on Saturday. In the North Goa league group, Panjim Gymkhana won the toss and opted to field and got Youth SC of Khandola out for 147 for 10 in 39.3 overs and reached the target set for win in 26.1 overs . Gourav Desai of Panjim Gymkahana finished as highest scorer in the match with his 45 from 76 balls. Priyam Chaturvedi of Youth SC of Khandola was the second highest scorer with 41 from 84 balls and Panjim’s Devidas Kholkar was the third highest scorer of the day with his rapid 35 from 33 balls. Man of the Match Buddhadev Mangaldas shone with his bowling claiming 4 wickets for Panjim Gymkhana in 9 overs and giving away 36 runs.Siddarth Ghanekar and Skand Alhuwalia claimed two wickets apiece. In the South Goa league, Bogda SC opted to field after winning the toss and winners Arlem Cricket Club scored 300 for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 40 overs and got rivals out for 275. Angadraj of Arlem won the Man of the Match award for his 101 not out from 69 balls and his two wickets haul. Darshan Patil , also of Arlem , was the second highest scorer of the day with his 87 from 61 balls. Bogda’s CC Neehal Bind finished as the third best striker after contributing 64 runs from 52 balls. Maruthi Huggi of Bogda CC emerged as the highest wicket taker with his haul of 3 wickets in 7 overs. Satish Kumar Yadav claimed two wickets.
