NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Sunny Club Mapusa defeated Goa Sports Academy by 5 wickets and Noorani Sports and Cultural Club got the better of Arlem by 3 wickets in the Division B league (2021-22) organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) for North Goa and South Goa respectively on Wednesday. In the North Goa match, Sunny Club Mapusa won the toss and opted to field and restricted Goa Sports Academy to 248 for 9 in the allotted 45 overs. The winners scored 249 for the loss of 5 wickets in 36.3 overs. Siddesh R S Amonkar, of Sunny Club Mapusa, who remained not out on 112 from 114 balls was declared the Man of the Match for his innings. Vinay sawant of Goa sports Academy finished as the second highest scorer with his 84 from 91 balls and Prithviraj Shilimkar scored 53 from 57 balls. Gaurish Gawas claimed a hat-trick when he finished with bowling figures of 3 wickets from 5 overs giving away 23 runs .Bablo Gauns and Narayan Gawas claimed two wickets a piece. In the South Goa league match, Noorani SCC got the better of Arlem SC by 3 wickets. Arlem SC won the toss and opted to bat and were bowled out for 149 in 35.2 overs. In replay , Noorani SCC scored 150 for the loss of 7 wickets in 41.1 overs. Gourav Gohar of Noorani SCC was declared the Man of the Match for claiming 3 wickets in his 6 overs and conceding 16 runs. Yogesh Naik of Arlem SC also claimed 3 wickets along with Anand Tendulkar of Noorani SCC. Vrusaj Talaulikar of Arlem SC top scored with his 34 from 66 balls.
