PORVORIM The third edition of the Goa Corporate League got off to a sizzling start with runs flowing as RBI managed to ground Air India in the last overs to record a four eun win over their rivals at the GCA Academy ground in porvorim on Saturday. Air India won the toss and elected to field and RBI started ona a rampage with RBI registering fifty runs in the first five overs.Sunit Gadigaonkar with 51 runs from 32 balls and Sayan Mondal with 90 runs from 51 balls set the pace for the rest of their team mates. Captain Kumar Deobart scored a swahbuckling 46 from 19 balls to see his team end the innings at 221 for the loss of six wickets. Air India took off excellently and at one stage appeared poised to score the winning runs in the manner captain and wicket keeper M Bisla went about gatheriung runs for his team. He scored 99 runs from 44 balls and appeared to be heading for the first century before he was sent back to the pavillion by Ali murtaza who got him caught by Ankit Rajpoot. Adityan Kaushik was not out on 87 from 57 runs as Air India tried to score big in the last overs.however, some tight bowling and fielding by RBI restricted Air India to 217 for the loss of four wickets in the alloted twenty overs. Ali murtaza of RBI walked away with the man of the match award for his two wickets in four overs, presented to him bySayed Abdul Majid, Managing Committee member GCA, Chandra Tendulkar Match Referee and Narahari Thakur.
