GCA AGM decides to pay grants to affiliated clubs

NEWS BYTES PORVORIM The Goa Cricket Association (GCA) – affiliated to BCCI- in its Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) held through webinar for the second consecutive year on Sunday August 29, 2021 decided to pay a grant of Rupees One lakh each to all the eligible affiliated clubs and Rs three lakhs to Premier Division Clubs, if the Premier Division is held this year, as per the approved Pattern of Assistance and Pattern of Spending guidelines. Over 75 club members participated in the AGM through the webinar which was conducted on the secure National Securities Depository Ltd e-Voting and AGM platform. The NSDL is approved by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India to conduct electronic voting. An independent professional was also appointed as scrutiniser to scrutinise the e-voting process, for greater transparency. The agenda for the AGM was to read and confirm the minutes of the previous AGM, approval of the Annual Report, Audited Accounts for The financial year 2020-21, and the appointment of Statutory and Internal Auditors for the Financial year, 2020-21 and the same were unanimously passed and adopted during the AGM by the General Body. The AGM started with a motion to condole the death of Ex- President of Union Sport Club ( Valpoi), Late Shri. Anil Pokle , Ex- Cricketer and Umpire of GCA Late Mr. Deepak Shirgaonkar , former India cricketer Late Shri Yashpal Sharma and Goa’s very own Ex- Ranji Cricketers Late Shri Prasad Amonkar and Jerry Fernandes and former Maharashtra Cricket Association Cricketer Late Shri. Ramesh Borde. The Members maintained a minute of silence in their honour. The General Body unanimously resolved and condoned the death of all and resolved to convey the feelings of the General Body to their respective families. Nelia Veroshka Cotta do Rego, Chartered Accountants were appointed as the statutory auditors and Chirag Kenkre & co, chartered accountants were appointed as the Internal Auditors.
