NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Karimabad Sports Club subdued Salgaocar Cricket Club through its first innings lead whilst Geno Sports Club defeated Dempo Cricket Club by 8 wickets in the Goa premier League organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) at Panjim Gymkhana and GCA ground in Sanguem respectively on Wednesday. At Panjim Gymkhana, Karimabad SC who resumed on their overnight score of 26 for the loss of 1 wicket went on to finish on 209 for 9 in 66 overs at close of play. Dheeraj Yadav of Salgaocar CC was declared the man of the match for his 4 wicket haul in 12 overs whilst conceding 52 runs. Sanat Mhapne of Karimabad also claimed 4 wickets in his 14 overs and he gave away 46 runs. Shubham  Tari of Salgaocar finished with a 3 wicket haul. Kashyap Bakle of Karimabad SC scored 76 from 125 balls and his team mate Rajshekar Harikant scored 69 from 81 balls. Azam Thota of Karimabad scored 55 from 52 balls. Geno SC bowled Dempo CC for 176 in their second innings needing 64 runs to win. They went about scoring  67 for the loss of 2 wickets thus registering an 8 wicket win. Ruthvik Naik of Geno SC was declared the man of the match for his 7 wicket haul in 18.2 overs where he surrendered 34 runs. Vikas Singh of Dempo SC claimed 5 wicketsin his 20.1 overs , giving away 71 runs. Amogh Desai of Geno scored 58 from 115 balls whilst Karan Vasshodia of Dempo finished with 48 from 129 balls. Gaurish Kambli scored 45 from 57 balls.
