NEWS BYTES Goa Cricket Association has appointed Mansur Ali Khan as Head coach of Goa Senior Men's team for the season 2022-23. The decision was taken in the Managing Committee meeting. Khan will take charge of the Senior Men's team, which is in Delhi for pre-season match practice, today. On the appointment of Mansur Ali Khan, who was the coach of Karnataka team when they won the Ranji Trophy tournament, GCA honorary secretary Vipul Phadke said: "Our team is shaping up very well. Last year, we performed very well in all 3 formats, and this year - we are trying to do better. This year the boys look in the best shape possible, since they have taken monsoon fitness seriously. I am sure our focus on fitness will lead to a better game performance for upcoming season. I am sure the experience and knowledge of our new coach will bring a lot of positives for the team." Meanwhile, Mansur Ali Khan also has experience from his past role of being bowling coach of India A team. He will not only be the coach for Senior Men's team, he will also be coaching our Junior Boys whenever senior sessions are not on, added Phadke.
