NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Crickect Association of Pondicherry (CAP) trailed Goa Cricket Association (GCA) by 206 runs at close of stumps of first day’s play of the Ranji trophy match played at the GCA ground in Porvorim on Tuesday. Pondicherry won the toss and opted to field and dismissed hosts Goa for 223 in 84 overs. Pondicherry was 17 for no loss in 4 overs. Bowler Darshan Misal top scored for Goa remaining not out on 50 from 85 balls. Wicket keeper KDeknath contributed 41 from 99 balls and bowler Mohit Redkar made 32 from 45 balls along with Snehal Kauthankar who also scored 32 but from 98 balls. Ishaan Gadekar made 20 and Manthan Khutkar and Lakshay Garg both contributed with eleven runs to make the double digit cut for Goa.
