Goa defeated Mizoram by an innings and 211 runs and reached the quarterfinals of the Ranji Trophy and qualified to the Elite Group qualified to the Elite Group at CCFC ground in Kolkata on Thursday. Goa who had declared the first innings on 490 for 4 bowled Mizoram for 109 in the first innings and asked them to follow on. However, Mizoram was bowled for 170 runs in their second innings leaving Goa at the top of the Plate Group table with fifty points. Captain Amit Verma , who claimed two wickets in Mizoram's first innings claimed five Mizoram second innings wickets to end up with a haul of seven wickets.Vijesh Prabhudesai claimed two second innings wickets whilst Felix alemao , Darshan Misal and Amulya Pandrekar claimed a wicket a piece. Goa Cricket association (GCA) has announced a cash award of Rs. 50,000 to each player  Rs 25,000  for each support staff member.
