Goa gets back to winning ways, thump Rajasthan by 37 runs: SYED MUSHTAQ ALI

NEWS BYTE INDORE/MP Goa bounced back to winning ways with an emphatic 37 run win over Rajasthan in Elite Group E of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournament organized by BCCI at Holkar stadium in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. Goa kept up its record of starting by winning the toss but, this time, opted to bat first and scored 154 for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Wicketkeeper KD Eknath who has been having a good spell with the bat opened the innings for Goa and ended as top scorer with his 38 from 32 balls. Suyash Prabhudesai was the second highest scorer for Goa with 35 from 23 balls and captain Amit Verma scored 22 from 18 balls. Aditya Kaushik (19) and Darshan Misal (15) were the other two batsmen from Goa to cross the double figure mark. The Goan bowlers broke through the Rajasthan batting line up not allowing the opponents space to build a partnership .Captain Ashok Menaria top scored for his team with 24. Vijesh Prabhudesai took three wickets for Goa whilst Malik Sirur and Lakshay Garg claimed two wickets a piece. Felix Alemao and Darshan Misal claimed one wicket each whilst Lakshay Garg finished with a run out to his name. Goa collected four points and are now with a tally of eight points
