NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Dempo Cricket Club plays Chowgule Sports Club and Geno Sports Club takes on Panjim Gymkhana in the opening matches of the Goa Premier league at the GCA Academy ground and Sanguem ground respectively from March 1 to 2. The six teams will contest the preliminary round at the GCA grounds in Porvorim and Sanguem and one semifinal is scheduled to be played at the Panjim Gymkhana ground. Geno SC plays Alcon MCC from March 8 to 10 at the GCA ground in Porvorim Salgaokar SC plays Dempo CC on the same date but in Sanguem. Panjim Gymkhana plays its last round match versus Alcon MCC from March 15 to 17 at the GCA ground in Porvorim and Chowgule plays Salgaokar on the same days in Sanguem. The team that finishes on top of Group A plays the runners up of Group B in the first semifinal at the GCA ground in Porvorim whilst the top team of Group B plays the runners up of Group A at Panjim Gymkhana ground from March 20 to 22. The finals are slated for march 25 at GCA ground in Porvorim.
