Chowgule Sports Club trailed Dempo Cricket club by 155 runs and Geno Sports Club was on 277 for the loss of six wickets against Panjim Gymkhana at close of first day play of Goa Professional League (GPL) organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) at GCA academy ground in Porvorim and Sanguem respectively on Wednesday.
Dempo won the toss and opted to bat and managed to score 234 in 57.5 overs. In reply, Chowgule was on 79 for 4 at close of play.
Lakshay Garg top scored for Dempo finishing not out on 90 from 70 balls. Manthan khutkar scored 36 and Yash Porob contributed 34.
Mohit Redkar claimed seven wickets for Chowgule and Kashyap Bakle was not out on 23. Vardhan Misquin scored 14.
In the other match in Sanguem, Geno SC was on 277 for the loss of 6 wickets at close of first days play.
Yogesh Kauthankar was not out on 89 whilst Vaibhav Naik had scored 71. Shivendra Bhujbal made 37.
