NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Khorlim XI beat Pernem Cultural and Sports Club by 113 runs to win the final of the North Goa Division B league (2021-22) organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) on Saturday. Khorlim XI won the toss and opted to bat and scored 307 for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 45 overs. Ther rivals from Pernem was dismissed for 196 in 40.30 overs. Deepak Punia shone for winners Khorlim XI with his 83 runs from 58 balls and was awarded the Man of the Match award for his performance.Ninad Pawaskar was the second highest scorer for his contribution of 77 runs from 85 balls and Omkar Ghule of Pernem finished as the third highest scorer of the final with his 56 runs from 36 balls. Pranav Salunkhe , Mohd Shahid and Rushab Rathod claimed two wickets each. In the South Goa semifinal , Madkai Yuvak Sangh defeated Curchorem Youth Cricket Club by 3 wickets . Curchorem Youth Cricket Club opted to bat and was bowled for 78 in 32.5 overs. In response, Madkai Yuvak Sangh scored 80 for the loss of 7 wickets in 23.3 overs. Deepak Dangi of Madkai won the Man of the Match award for his 23 from 29 balls , not out. Venkat Bile from Curchorem scored 18 from 43 balls and Unmesh Khedekar scored 17 from 18 balls. Saish Naik and Mahesh raikar from Madkai claimed 3 wickets whilst Sudesh Rane from Curchorem also claimed 3 wickets.
