NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Khorlim XI beat Sunny Sports Club by 30 runs in the second semifinal (North Goa) and Sparkling Stars Association defeated Janata Borim –Shiroda Club by 163 runs in the South Goa League tie of the Goa Division B league (2021-22) organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) simultaneously for North and South on Tuesday. Khorlim XI won the toss and selected to bat and was bowled for 221 in 43.2 overs. Rivals Sunny XI were bowled out for 191 in 41.5 overs. Deepak Punia of Khorlim XI won the Man of the Match award for his 5 wicket haul in his allotted 8 overs. He conceded 34 runs in the bargain.Jai Ahuja of sunny XI claimed 4 wickets in his 9 overs and gave away 33 runs in the bargain.Pranav Salunkha claimed 2 wickets in his 2 overs and gave away 9 runs. Ninad Pawaskar excelled with the bat amongst players from both teams with his knock of 55 from 48 balls. Sahil Dhuri was the second highest scorer with his 40 from 33 balls and Deepnashu Sharma scored 35 from 53 balls. In the second ties of the day , Sparkling Stars Association opted to bat after winning the toss to finish with a score of 318 for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 45 overs. They then bowled Janata Borim for 155 in 26.2 overs. Swapnil YS of Sparkiling Stars was declared the Man of the match for his 195 from 125 balls. Yash Kasvankar scored 72 from 105 balls and Amar Ghale of Janata Borim made 45 from 36 balls. Vaishava K of Sparkling claimed 5 wickets in 7.2 overs whilst conceding 39 runs. Shikar Bethodkar claimed 4 wickets and Swapnil YS claimed 2 wickets.
