NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Pernem Cultural and Sports Club won the semifinals of the North Goa Division B league (2021-22) organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) on Monday while Bogda Cricket Club defeated Noorani Sports and Cultural Club by 76 runs in the South Goa contest held simultaneously today. Pernem Cultural & SC were put in to bat by Challenger Sports Club and the winners took the opportunity by scoring 455 for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 45 overs. They then bowled out Challengers SC for 99 in 19.3 overs. Omkar Ghule was the hero of the match with his 257 from 140 balls. He was ably assisted by Ganesh Masurkar who was not out on 131 from 82 balls. Om Madgaonkar scored 32 from 37 balls. Kaushal Chari claimed three wickets from 5 wickets for the winners and Om Madgaonkar chipped in 2 wickets from 1.3 overs. Ganesh Masurkar took 2 wickets too. In the other match , Bogda Cricket Club won the toss and opted to bat and piled up a total of 228 for the loss of 7 wickets in their 45 overs. When it was their turn to bowl , the got their rivals out for 152 in 31.5 overs. Andugulapati Kiran of Bogda was declared the Man of the Match for his 50 from 63 balls. Maruti Huggi was not out on 39 from 26 whilst Neehal Bind was not out on 38 from 31 balls. P Naveen was the highest wicket taker , claiming 3 wickets from 7 overs whilst Anand Tendulkar also claimed 3 wickets but from 9 overs. Kartik P took 2 wickets.
