PORVORIM ONGC recorded their second consecutive win in the Goa Corporate League with a four wicket victory over DY Patil at the GCA Academy ground in Porvorim on Tuesday. ONGC opted to field after winning the toss and the teams decision had DY Patil start with jitters as none of their opening batsmen could score convincingly to bring about respectability to their batting. DY Patil lost the first three wickets very cheaply and it was left to Mandep Singh who came when the team was four wickets down to give shape to his teams batting with his 36 runs.Navshad Shaik who was not out on 54 from 27 balls was DY Patils saving grace. Despite having a total of 159 to score, ONGC themselves started nervously losing the first three wickets with just a run on board. However, the middle order steadied the ONGC ship and Mayan Rawat with his blistering 51 of 31 balls saw his teams easily score 159 for the loss of six wickets in 19 overs.Mayank blasted three sixes and the same number of fours during his stay at the crease. Mayan Rawat was crowned the Man of the Match by GCA Committee members Mr Viender Upadhay and Manohar Naik.
