Goa beats TN by 9 runs, qualifies for quarters: BCCI State A U-25 Cricket Trophy

NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Goa Cricket Association (GCA) defeated Tamil Nadul Cricket Association (TNCA) by 9 runs – through the VJD method - to enter the quarterfinals of the State A U-25 Cricket Trophy organised by BCCI at Alur Cricket stadium in Bangalore on Friday. Tamil Nadu won the toss and asked Goa to bat and the latter were bowled out for 207 in 46.3 overs. TN was on 158 for 7 in 30.2 overs when rain stopped play and the winners were declared through the VJD method adopted by BCCI. Tunish Sawkar top scored for Goa with his 86 from 128 balls and captain Suyash Prabhudessai was the second highest scorer with 36 from 55 balls. Mohit R and Manthan Khutkar scored 26 and 16 from 15 and 25 balls respectively. Opener Aditya Suryawanshi scored 15 from the 15 balls he faced. Mohit Redkar and Nihal S claimed two wicket a piece for Goa giving away 42 and 21 runs respectively while Heramb parab and Dheeraj Y claimed one wicket each.
