NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Goa succumbed to Tamil Nadu by five wickets in their first match of the BCCI Women U-19 one day Trophy for the 2021-22 season at the Vidarbha Cricket Association ground in Nagpur on Monday. Goa won the toss and opted to bat and could muster 113 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted fifty overs. Captain Ibtisam Shaikh top scored for Goa with 46 from 137 balls and Tanaya Naik was the only other player to cross the two digit mark with her 34 from 99 balls. Goa got 25 runs as extras from their rivals. In return, Tamil Nadu managed to knock 114 in 27.4 overs losing five wickets in the bargain. Taniya Pawar was the highest wicket taker for Goa , grabbing two wickets from her four overs giving away 15 runs . Savali Kolambkar and Tanaya Naik grabbed the other two wickets for Goa. Metali Ramesh run out Tamil Nadu player Aisha Bee to claim the fifth and last wicketfor Goa.
