NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Goa finished fourth in Elite Group C of the 2021-22 Vinoo Mankad Trophy after losing to Rajasthan by 156 runs in its last game at the Narendra Modi stadium in Motera , Ahmedabad . Goa finished its campaign with eight points having won one game, losing two and two games finishing with no result. In its final game against Rajasthan, Goa were asked to field after having lost the toss and Rajasthan scored 292 in fifty overs for the loss of five wickets. Lakhmesh Paware was the highest wicket taker for Goa claiming 3 in his 7 overs and surrendering 34 runs. Captain Kushal Hattangadi claimed a wicket from his 7 overs giving away 28 runs and Udit Yadav chipped in with another wicket from his stipulated ten overs. Needing to score 293 for a win , Goa was buckled for 136 in 38.5 overs. Wicketkeeper Shirendra H Bhujbal top scored for Goa with 53 from 73 balls whilst Udit Yadav made 19 from 31. Deep Kasarvakar was the only other batsmen to have crossed the double digit mark with his 12 from 29 balls. Hyderabad topped the group with 16 points from five matches.
