Goa succumbs to Rajasthan by 103 runs: Mens U25 State A Trophy
NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Goa Cricket Association (GCA) succumbed to Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) by 103 runs through the VJD method as play was stopped between the two teams in the BCCI organised Mens U25 State A Trophy (2021-22) at the CAP ground 3 in Puducherry on Thursday. Captain Suyash Prabhudessai was not out on 94 from 75 balls and Heramb not out on 0 from ) balls when play was called off in the Elite Group B tie between the two teams. Rajasthan collected four points and Goa none. Goa opted to field after winning the toss and restricted Rajasthan to 323 for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Heramb Parab , S A Mishra and Nihal s Chand claimed two wickets apiece giving away 59, 50 and 84 runs respectively in their allotted 10 overs. Sanket claimed the other wicket . Goa were 173 for the loss of 8 wickets when play was halted in 32.1 overs forcing the umpires to use the VJD Method to decide the winner. Opener Aditya suryawanshi scored 33 from 50 balls and Kashyap Bakle scored 14 from 14 balls. Sanket whoscored 13 from 21 balls was the other player from Goa to cross the double digit mark.
