NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) trails Goa Cricket Association (GCA) by 107 runs at stumps on the second day of the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy organized by BCCI at at the Narendra Modi stadium ground ‘B’ in Motera on Friday. Goa who had finished the first days play on 114 for the loss of 2 wickets in 33 overs went on to score 327, taking a first innings lead of 164. Mumbai was on 57 for the loss of 1 wicket at close of second days play. Lakshay Garg who claimed 6 Mumbai wickets went on to score 59 from 86 balls for Goa to end up as the third highest scorer for Goa in its first innings. Wicket keeper K D Eknath top scored for Goa with his 71 from 148 balls and his total consisted of 6 hits to the fence. Opener Amogh Desai scored 64 for Goa from 158 balls , crossing the fence on eight occasions . Suyash Prabhudesai scored 40 from 45 balls and captain Snehal Kauthankar contributed 37 from 60 balls. Shrikant Wagh scored 24 and Darshan Misal scored 15 to be amongst the batsmen to cross the double digit mark for Goa in its first innings. Darshan Misal claimed the lone Mumbai second innings wicket.
