Odisha trails Goa by 158 runs: Ranji Trophy
NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) trailed Goa cricket Association by 158 runs on first days play of the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy match being played at the Narendra Modi stadium ground ‘B’ in Motera on Thursday. Odisha won the toss and elected to field and bundled out Goa for 181 and were /3 at close on the first day. Wicketkeeper KD Eknath top scored for Goa with his 76 from 113 balls and his 57 run partnership along with Shrikant Wagh was also the highest recorded by Goa in its first innings. Amulya Pandrekar finished not out on 27 from 53 balls as he could not find assistance from the other batsmen. Shrikant wag with his 19 and Suyash Pabhudesai scored 19 whilst opener Amogh Desai scored 13 from 66 balls. Captain Snehal Kauthankar was the other player to cross the double digit mark with his 12 from 30 balls. Goa managed to restrict Odisha to 23 for 3 with Lakshay Garg claiming 2 wickets from his 5 overs and Shubham Ranjane claimed the other from the 8 balls bowled by him.
