Punjab gets the better of Goa: Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy

NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Goa Cricket Association (GCA) succumbed to Punjab Cricket association (PCA) by 81 runs in the BCCI organised Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 cricket tournament at the Bharat Ratna Atal B Vajpayee ground in Lucknow on Saturday. Punjab picked up four points from this win. Goa won the toss and opted to allow Punjab to bat and the latter managed to clobber up 197 runs for the loss of four wickets in twenty overs. Prabhsimran Singh, not out on 119 from 61 balls, was the shining star in the winners batting armory. Needing 198 for a win, Goa managed to score 116 and lost eight wickets in the bargain. Shubham Ranjane claimed two wickets for Goa from his four overs and gave away 27 runs. The other two wickets for Goa were claimed by Shrikant Wagh and Amit Yadav who gave away 35 and 33 runs respectively. Suyash Prabhudesai and Shubham were the only batsmen for Goa to cross the double digit mark with the former scoring 30 from 23 balls and the latter managing 19 runs from the 18 balls faced by him. Goa plays Tamil Nadu in its next match on November 8,2021.
