NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Dempo Cricket Club leads Chowgule Sports Club by 255 runs and Panjim Gymkhana trailed Geno Sports Club by 129 runs at close of second days play of the Goa Professional league (GPL) organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) at the GCA academy and Sanguem grounds respectively on Thursday. Chowgule who resumed on 79 for 4 was bowled for 188. In return, Dempo was on 204 for the loss of 7 wickets in their second innings. Karan Vasshodia scored 57 from 78 balls. Lakshay Garg who was the highest first innings scorer for Dempo CC was not out on 39 from 54 balls along with Saiesh kamat who was not out on 29. Mohit Redkar claimed five wickets for Chowgule and Felix Alemao took the  other wicket. In the match at Sanguem, Geno SC who resumed on 277 for 6 was bowled out for 342. Panjim gymkhana was on 213 for the loss of 5 wickets at close of play. Yogesh Kauthankar who was not out on 128 from 271 balls top scored for Geno. Vaibhav Naik finished as the second highest first innings scorer with his 71. Captain Snehal Kauthankar was not out on 110 for Panjim Gymkhana and Shubham Desai was not out on 50. Amit Yaday and Aryan Goa claimed two wickets each for Geno SC.
