NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Dempo Cricket Club will play Alcon MCC in the final of the Goa Premier league (GPL) organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) after the former beat Manas Panjim Gymkhana by virtue of their first innings lead and the latter got the better of Salgaokar Cricket Club by seven wickets in the semifinals played at the GCA academy ground and panjim Gymkhana ground respectively on Wednesday. Dempo CC who bowled Manas Panjim Gymkhana for 208 in their second innings went on todeclare their second innings on 274 for 8 at close of last says play. A Tej Ranav p scored for Dempo with 144 from 112 balls and opener karan Vasshodia contributed 56. Heramb Parab claimed five wickets for Panjim Gymkhana, Rahul Mehta claimed two wickets and Shubham Desai one. In the other semfinal at Panjim Gymkhana, Alcon MCC needed 132 in their second innings to win and managed to score 133 for the loss of 3 wickets. Opener Sumiran Amonkar was not out on 56 from 93 balls and Vedant Naik was not out on 20.
