NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Dempo Cricket Club had a 200 run lead over Mana Panjim Gymkhana and Salgaokar Cricket Club trails Alcon MCC by 124 runs at close of second day’s play of the Goa premier league organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) at the Academy ground in Porvorim and Sanguem ground respectively on Tuesday. Dempo who resumed on 364 for 9 was bowled out for 402 and then went on to bowl out Panjim Gymkhana for 208 in 76.1 overs. Snehal Kauthankar top scored for Panjim Gymkhana with 57 from 102 balls. Rahul Mehta scored 48 and Shubham Desai contributed 39. Heramb Parab scored 24. Vikas Singh claimed five wickets from 29.1 overs and gave away 91 runs for Dempo and Rohan Bogati claimed four wickets from 17 overs , surrendering 43 runs. In the other semifinal played at Panjim Gymkhana, Salgaokar who scored 207 in ts first innings bowled Alcon MCC for 345 and was on 14 for the loss of one wicket in their second innings. Shourya Jaglan top scored for Alcon MCC with his 67 from 96 runs.Captain Darshan Misal scored 57 from 66 balls. Sumiran Amonkar scored 40 from 72 balls and Prathmesh Gawas contributed 37.
