NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Dempo Cricket Club beat Chowgule Sports Club by 167 runs and Panjim Gymkhana  finished with the first innings lead against Geno Cricket Club in the Goa Premier league organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) at the GCA academy ground in Porvorim and Sanguem respectively on Friday. Dempo CC who was bowled out for 239 in both their innings bowled out Chowgule for 188 in their first innings and later bundled them out for 123 in the second. Vikas Singh of Dempo  was declared the player of the match for claiming five wickets in each inning. Captain Lakshay Garg scored 90 in the first innings and 50 in the second to finish as the highest scorer. In the other match in Sanguem, Panjim gymkhana finished with the first innings lead as the match against Geno ended as a draw. Panjim gymkhana scored 379 in its first innings after resuming on 213 for 5. Geno was on 60 for the loss of 1 wicket in its second innings at end of play. Snehal kauthankar scored 118 for Panjim Gymkhana and Shubham Desai contributed 79. Ruthvik Naik was not out on 65. Ruthvik Naik of Panjim Gymkhana was declared the player of the match.
