NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Geno Sports Club , with 7 wickets in hand, trails Dempo Cricket Club by 10 runs  on the first day of the Goa Premier League , organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) at their ground in Sanguem on Monday. Dempo CC won the toss and opted to bat and were bowled for 127 in 50.2 overs. Geno SC was 117 for the loss of 3 wickets in 37 overs at close of stumps. Amogh Desai was not out on 59 from 106 balls along with Samir dubashi who was on 33 from 63 balls. Ruthvik Naik claimed 7 wickets in his 18.2 overs giving away 34 runs. In the other match played at Panjim Gymkhana ground in Campal , Karimabad SC opted to bat , after winning the toss, and was bowled out for 245 in 55 overs. Salgaocar was on 62 for the loss of 5 wickets at close of first days play , trailing Karimabad by 183 runs.
