NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Kanchole Cricket Club beat SAI Sports Club by 5 runs whilst Hill Top Cricket Club defeated Youth Club of Vasco by 3 wickets in the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) 2021-22 North Zone and South Zone league matches held at GCA Academy ground in Porvorim and Margao Cricket Club (MCC) ground respectively on Wednesday. Kanchole CC was bolstered by a not out 107 scored from 76 balls by Man of the Match Kiran Parab when they were put in to bat by opponents SAI SC. Sattyam Ghogle of SAI scored 62 from 63 to finish as the second highest scorer of the match and Chandrakant Parab of Kanchole scored 56 from 71 balls. Gajanan Gadgil of Kanchole and Rakesh Korgaonkar of SAI claimed 3 wicket a piece whilst Kiran Parab had two wickets to his name. At MCC ground , Margao Hill Top Cricket Club won the toss and opted to field and bowled rivals Youth Club of Vasco for 145. In return , they made 147 for the loss of 7 wickets in 30.1 overs. Anil Kumar of Hill Top Cricket Club was declared the man of the Match for his 4 wicket haul from 7.4 overs. He conceeded 24 runs. Anil of Youth club of Vasco and D Palyekar claimed 2 wickets each. Sarvambh Naik of Hill top was the top scorer with his 34 from 56 balls. He was followed by Anil of Youth Club of Vasco who scored 32 from 27 and Shlok Sawant of Hill top made 22 from 39 balls. Meanwhile , in a C division league match of South zone , Shiroda Youth Club defeated Oxford SC by 6 runs. Shiroda YC won the toss and scored 154 in 33.4 overs. They then bowled rivals Oxford SC for 148 in 34.2 overs. Siddhu Madival of Shiroda was adjudged the Man of the Match for first scoring 29 from 50 balls and later claiming 3 wickets in his 6 over spell where he conceded 30 runs.
