NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Karimabad Sports Club beat Alcon MCC by an innings and 45 runs in the Goa Premier League organised by Goa Cricket Association at its ground in Sanguem on Friday. Karimabad who had declared its first innings after piling 466 for 9 bowled out Alcon MCC for 292 in 86.4 overs in their second innings. Alcon MCC had scored 129 in its first innings. Vedant Naik of Karimabad SC was adjudged the man of the match for his 6 wicket haul – 4 of which he claimed during MCC’s second innings. Captain Manthan Khutkar top scored for MCC with his 89 from 147 balls. Geno Sports Club beat Chowgule Sports Club by 5 wickets in the other GPL match played at Pamjim Gymkhana ground in Campal. Geno SC went on to score 303 for the loss of 5 wickets in its second innings to surmount the total set for them by Chowgules. Mohit Redkar of Geno SC was declared the man of the match for claiming 6 wickets.
