NEWS BYTES PORVORIM New Vaddem Sports Club defeated Vasco City XI by 39 runs and Sakura Cricket Club got the better of Union Cricket Club (Mapusa) by 8 wickets in the South and North Zone B Division league matches organized by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) at MCC ground , Margao and GCA Academy ground , Porvorim respectively on Monday. New Vaddem opted to bat , after winning the toss, and was bowled out for 218 in 34.3 overs. In reply , Vasco City XI could muster only 179 runs in 36 overs. Kanhaiya Laddha of New Vaddem was adjudged the Man of the Match for scoring 60 in 41 balls and later claiming 2 wickets. Dhiraj Nakvekar was the top scorer of the match with his 79 from 73 balls. Rajwardhan Undre scored 78 from 83 balls to finish as the second highest scorer of the game. Kundan of New Vaddem and Sachin of Vasco XI claimed 3 wickets a piece with the former giving away 23 runs in his 5 overs and the latter surrendering 36 runs in his 7.3 overs. In the North Zone match , Sakura Cricket Club beat Union Cricket Club (Mapusa) by 8 wickets.Union Cricket Club was bowled out for 129 in 24.1 overs and Sakura CC crossed by reaching 130 for 2 in 17 overs. Rushikesh Gawde of Sachin CC won the Man of the Match award for his 5 wickethaul in 7 overs. He gave away 24 runs. Umang Gosavi was the highest scorer , remaining not out on 50 from 34 balls and later claiming 2 wickets.Mayur Mahale from Union scored 44 from 48 whilst Narayan Gawas made 38 from 47 balls.
