NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Pernem Cultural Sports Club and Curchorem Youth Cricket Club won their respect matches of the Division B league (2021-22) organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) for North Goa and South Goa respectively on Friday. Pernem Cultural SC got the better of Youth SC of Khandola by 158 runs and Curchorem Youth Cricket Club defeated Al Fatha Cricket Club by 70 runs in their respective League matches. Pernem CSC was bowled by Youth SC of Khandola for 269 after having opted to bat after winning the toss. The winners, however, bowled their rivals for 111 in 33.3 overs. Rajesh Bevinakatti was the star for the winners for his century (103) scored in 85 balls. He was awarded the Man of the Match award for his display. Shubham Jha and Om Madgaonkar , both of Pernem Cutural SC , ended as the second and third highest scorers with respective scores of 35 and 32. Prasad Harle of Youth SC of Khandola finished with bowling figures of 4-8.1-61.Omkar Ghule and Vipul Desphande claimed 3 wickets each. In the other match , Curchorem Youth Cricket Club defeated Al Fatha CC by 70 runs. The team from Curchorem was bowled for 220 in 42.5 overs after having won the toss and in return managed to bowl their opponents for 150 in 39.3 overs. Sudesh Rane of Curchorem was declared the Man of the Match for his 4 wicket haul. Kush Mahajan of Al Fatha emerged as the second highest wicket taker with his 3 wickets and Aditya Angle claimed two wickets for the team from Curchorem. Kush Mahajan of Al Fatha was the highest batsmen of the match with his 48 from 77 balls.
