NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Samrat Sports Club defeated Sakura Cricket Club by 5 wickets and Maratha Warrior got the better of Rising Star of Shirvoi by 1 wicket in the B Division League of North and South Zone respectively organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) on Wednesday. In the match played at the GCA Academy ground in Porvorim , Sakura CC won the toss and opted to bat and scored 202 for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 40 overs. Samrat Sports Club responded by scoring 205 for the loss of 5 wickets in 33.4 overs. Tejas Desai of Samrat SC was declared the Man of the Match for his not out 55 from 63 balls. Umang Gosavi scored a century from 119 balls to finish as the highest scorer of the match and Ashish naik of samrat SC also was not out on 72 from 61 balls. Rushikesh Gawde of Sakura was the highest wicket taker with his 3 wicket haul from 8 overs. He conceded 41 runs. In the match at MCC ground in Margao , Maratha Warrior won the toss and opted to filed and they managed to bowl out rivals Rising Star of Shirvoi for 132 in 39 overs and they later went on to score 137 for 9 in 19.3 overs. Anirudh Palikar of Maratha Warrior was declared the Man of the Match for his 40 from 24 balls not out.Aditya Dallal of Rising stars also finished not out on 39 from 83 balls and Pundalik Prabhu of Maratha Warriorsmade 24 from 16 balls. Sangamesh Patil and Vrushab Kuncolienkar of Rising Stars claimed 4 wickets a piece.
