NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Sunny Sports Club defeated Mahalaxmi Cricket Club by 5 wickets and La Paz gardens got the better of Paramount Sports Club by 175 runs in the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Division B league (2021-2022) of North Goa and South Goa respectively. Sunny Sports Club won the toss and opted to field and scored 270 for the loss of 5 wickets in 31.5 overs only to bowl their opponents Mahalaxmi Cricket Club for 267 for 5 in 45 overs. Though Shubham Naik top scored for the winners with his 76 from 53 balls it was Chinmay Patel of Mahalaxmi CC who scored a century in 118 balls to finish as highest scorer of the match. Shardal Shet was the third highest scorer of the game with his 65 from 61 balls. Jai Ahuja of SSC and Samir Tari of MCC claimed two wickets a piece. Rajat Shet of SSC, who scored 62, was adjudged as Man of the Match. In the match in South Goa, La Paz gardens defeated Paramount Sports Club by 75 runs. Paramount won the toss and opted to field and La Paz Gardens went on to score 367 for 8 in 45 overs. The winners then bowled losers Paramount SC for 192 for 8 in 45 overs. Suraj Dongre of La Paz Gardens, who was adjudged the Man of the Match, finished as top scorer of the day with his 129 from 127 balls. Ajit Bagade of Paramount SC, who remained not out on 74 from 78 balls, finished as the second highest scorer of the day and Gaurav Jathar with his 59 from 45 balls ended as the third highest scorer. Rahul Nerukar claimed 4 wickets to end as the highest wicket of the day and Rupesh Asgaonkar and Gaurav Jathar claimed two wickets each.
