NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Goa Cricket Association (GCA) defeated Elite Group A table toppers Tamil Nadu Cricket Association by seven wickets in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 cricket tournament organized by BCCI at the Bharat Ratna Atal B Vajpayee ground in Lucknow on Monday. Goa is now on eight points and continues to be in the fourth slot and TN with 12 points is still heading the table with both teams having played their four match. Goa won the toss and opted to field and restricted their opponents to 136 for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Goa crossed the winning target, scoring 140 for the loss of three wickets, in 18.4 overs. Shrikant Wagh was the star bowler for Goa claiming 4 TN wickets in his spell of four overs giving away 36 runs. Lakshay Garg , Felix Alemao , Darshan Misal and Suyash Prabhudesai claimed one wicket each for Goa. Lakshay surrendered 35 runs in his allotted 4 overs whilst claiming his only wicket whilst Felix Alemao claimed his wicket in his four overs and gave away 30 runs. Darshan Misal gave away 13 runs from his 2 overs and Suyash Prabhudesai gave away 9 runs in his two overs. Shubham Ranjane was the top scorer for Goa remaining not out on 52 from the 42 balls he faced.Suyash Prabhudesai chipped in with his 43 from 24 balls to finish as the second highest scorer for his team and Aditya Kaushik hit 41 from the 43 balls he faced. Captain ED Eknath and Lakshay Garg were out for a duck. Goa plays Maharashtra on November 9,2021.
