Goa trails TN by 204 runs: Day 3, Cooch Behar Trophy

NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Goa Cricket Association (GCA) trails Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) by 204 runs at the call of stumps, on the penultimate day of the Cooch Behar Trophy organised by BCCI at the Lalbhai Contractor stadium in Surat on Monday. Tamil Nadu declared its first innings when its scoreboard read 559 for 4 in contrast to Goa’s first innings total of 251 leaving Goa to score 309 runs to register a win. The TN innings was bolstered by another two centuries scored this time by A Barinath who was not out on 145 and captain Bopathi V Kumar M. Goa ended play on the penultimate day on 104 for the loss of two wickets with the final day to play. Captain Kaushal Hattangadi who was out 0n 96 in the first innings was batting on 28 from 62 balls along with Izaan Shaikh who was on 17 from 85 balls. Opener Veer Yadav scored 34 from 52 balls and Chittem Devankumar contributed 19 from 23 balls. Manish kakode and Chittem Devankumar were the two bowlers from Goa who claimed the only two TN wickets before the latter declared their innings.
