TN beat Goa by innings and 49 runs: Cooch Behar Trophy

NEWS BYTES PORVORIM Goa Cricket Association (GCA) captain Kaushal Hattangadi who starred with the bat for his team was unable to prevent Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) from scoring an innings and 49 run win in the Cooch Behar Trophy organised by BCCI at the Lalbhai Contractor stadium in Surat on Thursday. Goa who needed 308 runs to overtake Tamil Nadu’s first innings lead was scuttled out for 259 runs on the last day of the match. Captain Kaushal Hattangadi who missed his century in the first innings again ended up as the highest scorer for Goa with his 59 from 101 balls. Opener Veer Yadav finished as the second highest scorer with 34 from the 52 balls he faced. Udit Yadav (33), Izaan Shaikh (30) , Deep Kasvankar (26) , Chittem Devankumar (19) and Shivendra Bhujbal ( 12) were the other batsmen from Goa who cold cross the double digit mark. TN bagged seven points and Goa nil.
